AOL Users

AOL browsers come preset with graphics being "re-optimized" for every website visited. You will likely notice on many sites that you visit that the graphics are a bit fuzzy or down right bad because of this preset optimizer. As a website designer this can be rather frustrating since we have already optimized graphics for fast and clean viewing on every browser. AOL is the only browser that "re-optimizes" graphics and this function can only be disabled by the individual users. If you have never changed this setting then this will likely apply to your browser. Changing this is quite simple.

Directions:

  1. On AOL's menu bar on the top of this screen, find and click on "My AOL"

  2. Click on "Preferences", then find the box marked "WWW" and click on it.

  3. Click on the tab that says "Webgrahics".

  4. Take the check out of the box that says "Use compressed graphics".

  5. Press "Apply" and then "OK".

That's all there is to it. Every new page you travel to from now on will look just like the website designer intended. And Wow, will you ever notice how great the website graphics will look.

Note: Any page that you have already visited on this or any other recent site may still have fuzzy graphics. This is because the browser has already "cached" (saved) those images on your computer and will reload them rather then the new "un-optimized" ones.

To solve this simply:

  1. On AOL's menu bar on the top of this screen, find and click on "My AOL"

  2. Click on "Preferences", then find the box marked "WWW" and click on it.

  3. On the first tab marked "General", find "Temporary Internet Files".

  4. Click on "Delete files", then "OK".

That's it.

Enjoy your time on our site. I know for a fact this and every site you now travel to will look much better. Happy surfing!
